Are you interested in becoming a Ranger? Join Ranger Lauren for a guided walk exploring the paths to this fulfilling career. During the walk, we'll discuss the diverse backgrounds of Park and Open Space Rangers and highlight their wide range of responsibilities, from resource protection to public service. You'll also get a glimpse of a typical day on the job. Whether you are considering this career or simply curious about what rangers do, this walk offers a unique behind-the-scenes perspective. Appropriate for all ages. Friendly dogs are welcome on a leash. Distance: 1.8 miles; elevation gain: 130 feet. Adverse weather or poor air quality may cancel. Check the calendar or call (415) 473-2816 two hours before the event to confirm the status. Registration is required.

Meet at the gate on Deer Island Ln in Novato. From Hwy 101 in Novato, take the exit for Atherton Ave, then head east for 1.7 miles. Turn right onto Olive Ave, then left onto Deer Island Ln. The gate is on your right.
