Family Walk: Roy’s Redwoods

Directions: Meet at the Roy’s Redwoods Loop trailhead on Nicasio Valley Rd in San Geronimo. From Hwy 101 in Larkspur, take the exit for Sir Francis Drake Blvd west 10.8 miles, turn right onto Nicasio Valley Rd. Gate is approximately 0.5 miles up on the right.

The redwood forest comes to life in the wet season. We’ll look for banana slugs and salamanders, insects and other interesting critters hiding under logs, and visit a towering redwood fairy ring. We’ll follow trails where we can hop from step to step and walk along fallen logs. Total miles: 1. There is little elevation change. Remember to bring lunch. No pets (except service dogs) are allowed. Adverse weather or poor air quality may cancel. Registration is required.
