Meet at the snack bar in McNears Beach Park in San Rafael (201 Cantera Way). From Hwy 101 in San Rafael, take the Central San Rafael exit east. Take 2nd St east, which merges into 3rd St, and then turns into Point San Pedro Rd. Follow Point San Pedro Rd for 3.6 miles, turn right at Cantera Way, and follow to the large parking lot at the end.

Get ready to make a splash while building essential water safety skills! You'll practice important techniques like recognizing water hazards, performing basic water rescues, and learning CPR and first aid for aquatic emergencies. Along the way, you'll discover how preparation, quick thinking, and teamwork can help you stay safe and confident in and around the water. With guidance from our expert Park Rangers and fun, hands-on activities, you'll leave feeling water-ready for your next aquatic adventure! Appropriate for ages 10 and older. Parents and guardians: Feel free to stick around and watch our activities or drop your Junior Guard off and enjoy a quiet walk at the park. Adverse weather or air quality may cancel.
