Help protect the endangered Ridgway's rail birds and enhance wildlife habitat along Las Gallinas Creek. We'll focus on removing Russian thistle, an annual invasive plant that grows from early summer through late fall. During this time of year, Russian thistle commonly displaces native plants along the upper tidal reaches of many Bay Area wetlands. It is a thornless, succulent plant that is easy to remove by hand. Appropriate for all ages. We'll provide snacks and water. Bring gloves and a water bottle. No pets are allowed, except for service/companion animals. Adverse weather or poor air quality may cancel; if in doubt, text or call (415) 763-2977 two hours before the event to confirm the status. Registration is required.
