Stewards of the Land highlights the Indigenous diaspora in Marin County and seeks to uplift them as essential voices in our communities. Their portraits and stories carry forth the ancestral knowledge of reciprocity and sustainable care for the earth. The current extraction-based economy normalizes the desecration and exploitation of Mother Earth. Indigenous values offer a holistic perspective of seeing every plant, animal, and landscape as relatives and not profit. This intimate connection has allowed Indigenous peoples to thrive and live in harmony with the natural world for thousands of years.

Directions:

Meet at the public dock on Wharf Rd in Bolinas (across from the College of Marin biology lab). From Hwy 101 in Larkspur, take the Sir Francis Drake Blvd exit west 20.4 miles to Olema. Turn left onto Hwy 1 for 9.2 miles, right onto Olema-Bolinas Rd, left to stay on Olema-Bolinas Rd, and straight onto Wharf Rd for 2.3 miles.

Directions:

Meet at the gate at the end of Ridgecrest Rd in Kentfield. From Hwy 101 in Larkspur, take the exit for Sir Francis Drake Blvd west 2.1 miles. Turn left onto College Ave, right onto Woodland Rd, left onto Evergreen Dr, second right to stay on Evergreen, left onto Ridgecrest Rd, and follow to the end (dead end).

Directions:

Paradise Beach Park - parking lot Meet at the parking lot in Paradise Beach Park in Tiburon (3450 Paradise Dr). From Hwy 101 in Mill Valley, take the exit for Tiburon Blvd (Hwy 131) east 1.8 miles. Turn left onto Trestle Glen Blvd, right onto Paradise Dr, and follow for 1.5 miles. The park is on the left.

While the monthlong 50th San Francisco Comedy Competition is getting underway in faraway places like Carmel, Orinda, Vacaville and Santa Cruz, 2025 champ Shawn Felipe will return to San Rafael for a final victory lap. The Hawaiian native will be celebrating quite a year of success since winning the coveted crown.

Marin County comedy fans will now have a chance to see Shawn do much more time than was required during the event. Expect three or four times the hilarity this time around depending on how long the audience encourages him to keep going.

Directions: Meet at parking area near the playfield. From Highway 101 take the Ignacio/Bel Marin Keys exit. Stay right onto Nave Drive .7 mi, go left at Main Gate Rd, .4 mi, Main Gate Rd becomes S Palm Dr, .5mi, turn right onto Hangar Ave and follow to South Hamilton Park. The parking lot is on the right.
